This programme is designed for individuals with IBS or food sensitivities who want to expand their food tolerance, reduce anxiety around eating, and enjoy a more varied, nutritious diet. It’s especially helpful for those who feel stuck in restrictive eating patterns or overwhelmed by their symptoms.

Unlike elimination diets, which often focus on restriction, this programme focuses on rebuilding food trust and tolerance. It emphasises understanding the gut-brain connection, calming the nervous system, and creating sustainable habits for long-term success.

C-FAST stands for Conditioned Food Avoidance and Sensitivity Trap. It is a concept that describes the cycle where individuals develop heightened sensitivity to certain foods and begin avoiding them out of fear of triggering symptoms. Over time, this avoidance can condition the brain and nervous system to associate food with danger, perpetuating a cycle of increased food restrictions and ongoing symptoms. You can read more here

The Rebuild Food Tolerance program helps participants identify if they’re stuck in the C-FAST cycle, understand its impact, and apply evidence-based strategies to break free. By re-educating the nervous system and rebuilding trust with food, participants can move toward a more varied and nourishing diet without fear or discomfort.

The course includes 8 modules run alongside an online platform where you can connect with others who are doing the course and Joanna who is an IBS specialist dietitian and FAST Freedom provider. The online platform will focus on 1 module each week for 8 weeks. We recommend setting aside a small amount of time each day to reflect on your progress, fully absorb the material and apply the strategies.

The group programme is limited to 10 participants, ensuring a personalised and supportive experience. Plus, dietitians Joanna Baker and Wendy Busse will actively participate in the forum to provide additional guidance and support.

Yes! This programme is a great next step for those who’ve completed a low FODMAP diet or other elimination diets but still struggle with food fear, unexplained sensitivities, or a limited diet. It focuses on rebuilding food tolerance and overcoming conditioned food avoidance.

Yes! If you experience anxiety around food, this course can still be beneficial for you. However, we recommend consulting your GP to rule out any underlying medical conditions, such as coeliac disease, that may be causing your symptoms. You’re welcome to start the course while undergoing this process.

You’ll have access to a forum where you can ask questions and connect with an IBS specialist dietitian, as well as others taking the course. There’s also an option to book one-on-one sessions with Joanna, the course creator, for an additional cost.
